JoAnn "Joby" Baldwin Mitchell, age 85, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at NHC Healthcare Anderson.

Born August 16, 1939, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Willie Benjamin Baldwin and Ethel Kelley Baldwin. She was married to Charles Milford Mitchell until his death in 2008. She was also preceded in death by her 6 sisters, Margaret Balcombe, Gazelle Burdette, Dorothy "Dot" Walker, Hazel Holden, Sue Ellen Sullivan, and Olga "Archie" Hembree.

JoAnn loved Gospel music and was a talented piano player. She was always active and involved in the church she attended. She enjoyed working jigsaw, crossword puzzles, word find puzzles, and traveling; her favorite trip being to the Holy Land. She was also a fantastic cook and was famous for her biscuits and German Chocolate cake. JoAnn loved her family and will be missed beyond measure by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Perry Mitchell (Donna), Keith Mitchell (Wendy), and Kevin Mitchell; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Station 2 at NHC Healthcare Anderson for their hardworking, loving care of our beloved mother.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 1:30-2:30 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow the visitation at 3:00 pm at New Silver Brook Cemetery with Dr. Brent Lollis officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Caris Hospice, 129 Straight Drive, Anderson, SC 29625, or Taylor Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church, 711 Glenn St., Anderson, SC 29625.

The family will be at the Strickland home, 815 S. Manning St., Anderson, SC.
