Jody Adams Powell, born November 17, 1972 in Anderson, to the parents of Roscoe and Tonda Adams Powell, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, December 11, 2013. Having spent all of his life in Iva, he was a graduate of Crescent High School, a member of First Baptist Church of Iva and served in the South Carolina National Guard. He was currently employed with UPS, working for over 20 years. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sons, Luke and Landon Powell; a daughter, Logan Powell; and their mother, Keri Powell; one sister, Janna Garner and her husband Mark; nieces, Oakley Webb and Hailey and Emma Garner; a nephew, Levi Garner; his grandmother, Mama Jan Latham; a special friend, Brenda Masters and her children, Kaylin, Karlee and Holden. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that loved him very much. He was a good friend to all. The family will be at the home of his parents, 105 Sunset Drive, Iva, SC, and will receive friends at The First Baptist Church of Iva on Sunday, December 15, 2013 from Noon until 2:30 p.m. The Funeral Service will follow at the church at 3:00 p.m. with his beloved pastor and friend officiating, Reverend Jerry Gray.
