Joe McGill Anderson, SC Joe Rodney McGill, age 74, of Anderson, passed away, Thursday, February 6, 2014 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Anderson, he was the son of the late Joe Luten McGill and the late Evelyn West McGill. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a local merchant for many years. He is survived by his sons, Jon McGill and his fianc Sharlie Morgan, and Russell Sterling McGill, all of Anderson; a brother, David McGill and his wife Carol, of Greenwood, SC; a sister, Nancy McGill, of Anderson and three grandchildren, Meagan, Cullen and Catherine McGill. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Mary Ann McGill; and a son, Joe "Mackey" R. McGill. The Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Old Silver Brook Cemetery with Dr. Johnny F. McKinney officiating. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Saturday, February 8, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family requests that memorials be made to American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615.
