Joe Dan Sheridan, age 79, of 920 East Front Street, Iva, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017, at AnMed Health Medical Center with his beloved sister, Fayetta, by his side. Born on January 15, 1938, he was a son of the late Luther Licurtis Sheridan, Sr. and the late Clareen Mize Sheridan. Mr. Sheridan was a graduate of Anderson Boys' High School, Class of 1957. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He served aboard the USS Essex. Mr. Sheridan was a textiles operator and was employed by BASF. For twenty years he was associated with the W. R. Grace Company in Simpsonville, SC. Survivors include a daughter, Jodi Sheridan Manley (Scott) of Enoree, SC; a son, Daniel E. Frost (Terry) of Iva; a step-son, Cary Wayne Vaughn of Anderson; two grandchildren, Heather Manley and Jennifer Manley, both of Enoree, SC; a brother, Harold Ford Sheridan (Adrian) of California; two sisters, Carolyn Joyce Sheridan Smith of Anderson, and Fayetta Sheridan Frost Davenport of Iva. Mrs. Davenport was also Joe's caregiver for the past two years. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Mr. Sheridan was twice married, first to the late JoAnn Sumner Sheridan and then to the late Martha Ann Gaines Sheridan. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Luther Licurtis Sheridan, Jr. and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service to celebrate the life of Mr. Sheridan will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at 3 p.m. at the Mausoleum Chapel at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Billy Pinson officiating. The family will receive friends at the Mausoleum Chapel from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
