Joe Wheeler Williamston, SC Joe L. Wheeler "Biga", age 73, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at the Rainey Hopsice House. Born in Anderson, SC, on August 1, 1941, he was the son of the late Garnet Melvin Wheeler and the late Beatrice Deitz Wheeler Woods. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, serving in Germany and France. He retired from BASF after 30 years. He was of the Baptist faith. Joe is survived by his siblings, Donnis W. Davis, of Greenwood, SC, Marvin Wheeler, of Iva, SC, Bobby Wheeler, of Starr, SC and Jeannie Sheridan, of Anderson, SC; a niece, Donnis Hollingsworth and her husband Daniel; nephews, Joey and Mickey Davis; a great niece, Kearsten "Mudcat" Hollingsworth; and a great-nephew, Daniel "Big Boy" Hollingsworth. The Memorial Graveside service will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with military honors provided by Upstate Veterans Honor Guard.
