Joseph "Joe" Lionel Wilbanks, age 77, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at his residence. Born in Anderson, SC, on August 25, 1938, he was the son of the late Rhunnetta Epps Wilbanks. He retired from Roof Servicing Inc. after many years of service. Joe attended West Anderson Church of God. He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Jean Moore Wilbanks; his children, Gary Lee Wilbanks, of Anderson, SC, Anthony "Tony" Earl Wilbanks, of Anderson, and Theresa Wilbanks Rankin and her husband Dan, of Seneca, SC; a special brother-in-law, Ronnie Moore and his wife Tammy; six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Nixon; a brother, Theo Wilbanks; and one great-grandson, Jacob Cobb. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Monday, October 12, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. with Reverend Mark Daniel and Reverend John Daniel officiating. Interment will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery.
