Pierce, age 85, of 318 Lewis Street, Anderson, SC, husband of the late Rosa Lee Kay Pierce, died Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home in Anderson.Born in Hartwell, GA on November 24, 1921, Mr. Pierce was a son of the late Johnny Mack Pierce and Rollie Lee Brown Pierce. He was retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas with over 30 years of service and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was a decorated United States Army World War II veteran having received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Mr. Pierce was a loving husband and the most wonderful Daddy in the world.Survivors, include three daughters: Brenda Herring and husband William; Joyce McCurley and husband Charles, and Denise Graham, all of Anderson, SC; sister, Imogene Boykin of Anderson, SC; seven grandchildren, Michael Herring, Angie Roach, Tony and Pam McCurley, Charlene Rochester, Trent and Tyler Graham; seventeen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tracy Lynn McCurley; four brothers, J. A., 'Bunk', Robert and Paul Pierce and a sister, Lillie Mae Ramsey.The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Ray Grant officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Anderson will Military Honors.
