Alex Joe Kish, Jr., age 72, of Anderson, SC, passed away Monday, October 2, 2023, at Rainey Hospice House.

Born April 9, 1951, in Milwaukee, WI, he was the son of the late Alex Joseph Kish and Helen Louise Musselman Kish.

For about 10 years, Joey worked for Pepsi Cola. He was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church of Anderson where he contributed his crocheting and knitting talents to the Prayer Shawl ministry to help comfort those at Hope Missions, Hospice, and the homeless shelter. He enjoyed watching the church services at home and reading the church newsletter and various cards and letters from the ministries of the church. He also enjoyed crafting, Christmas decorations, puzzles, and snapping green beans. Joey loved history and historical names and dates. Growing up, he traveled with his parents all over the United States going to museums and learning about historical markers and significant locations. Though he had a challenged life, he lived every day to the fullest.

He is survived by his caregiver and friend, Kim Stroud, and his extended church family.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Old Stone Church Cemetery with Dr. Dennis Tedder officiating.
