John Sanford Becker, Jr., age 86, of Seneca, SC, passed away Monday, July 26, 2021, at AnMed Health Medical Center surrounded by his family and loving wife of 61 years, Sharon. Born July 13, 1935, he was the son of the late John Sanford Becker, Sr. and Loretta Klaus Becker. John was a veteran officer of the United States Navy and a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. He was a master of carpentry and could fix and design almost anything. He was a WWII history buff, a technical writer and illustrator and a renowned problem solver. John was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Stocky Becker; son, Brian Becker (Malia) of Seneca, SC; daughter, Jennifer Hagood (Brett) of Islamorada, FL; brothers, Frank Becker of Houston, TX, and Robert Becker of Clearwater, FL; and 8 grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John Sanford Becker, III; and brother, William Becker. The funeral service will be held Thursday, August 5, 2021, at 10:00 am at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Whaley officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
