John Sidney Carpenter, III, age 65, of Anderson, SC, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2022 at his home. Born March 7, 1957, in Radford, VA, he was the son of the late John Sidney Carpenter, Jr. and Marguerite Schoen Carpenter. John was a student of history and an avid reader. He loved J.R. Tolkien and the Lord of the Rings trilogy. He was a passionate gamer and lover of English Bulldogs. His favorite dog "Gunner" will miss him. John was a loving husband and father and a great man who is gone too soon. He is survived by his wife, Tracy Lancaster Carpenter; son, John S. Carpenter, IV; brother, Vic Carpenter (Laurey); and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert D. Carpenter.
