John P. Clinkscales, Sr., age 84, of Anderson, SC, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 13, 2021. Born July 31, 1937, in Anderson, he was the son of the late Lucius and Anna B. Clinkscales. John was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He enjoyed being in the outdoors and farming and loved his family immensely. He was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Betty Linda Crowe Clinkscales; sons, John P. Clinkscales, Jr. (Angie) and Tony L. Clinkscales (Andria Nevies) both of Anderson; daughter, Tonja Strickland (Tim) of Anderson; sister, Ruth Frady of Anderson; grandchildren, Blake, Dylan, and Caleb Clinkscales all of Anderson, Olivia Kennelly (Chris) of Easley, and Grace Plowden (Davis) of Belton; and great grandchildren, Anthony, Johnathan, and Jenson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Clinkscales. The family will receive friends Friday, December 17, 2021, from 1:00-2:30 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home.
