John "Billy" William Cochran III of Anderson, South Carolina passed away peacefully on Monday, May 8, 2023, with his family by his side. Billy was born in Columbia, South Carolina on July 20, 1945. He was the son of John William Cochran, Jr. and Juanita Skenes Cochran. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Nancy Ashley Cochran of 57 years. Billy was a graduate of T L Hanna High School class of 1963, and he worked in sales for Singer/Ryobi until his retirement. He was a lifelong member of Central Presbyterian Church where he served in many capacities through the years including being a deacon. Billy will forever be remembered for his infectious laugh, big smiles, quick witted jokes, and enthralling story telling skills. He adored his family and friends and loved being outdoors hunting, gardening, and sitting in his driveway sharing stories. He never met a stranger. Billy is survived by his three daughters, Kelly Cleveland and her husband Kym, Lisa Moorhead and her husband Kevin and Carrie Pannell and her husband Josh all of Anderson. His grandchildren, Jeffrey Cleveland, wife Savannah, Johnathan Cleveland, Katelin Moorhead, Devin Brady and her husband Grant, Tye Moorhead, Mary DuPre Pannell, and William Pannell. And one great-grandchild, Tripp Brady. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Lewis Cochran. A celebration of Billy's life will be held Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 11:00 am at Central Presbyterian Church. Immediately after the service, the family will receive friends in the church Fellowship Hall. A private family committal service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Saturday morning.
