John Augustus Craig, Jr., age 92, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Spring Arbor of Albemarle. A native of Greenville, John was born on September 27, 1922, he was the son of the late John Augustus Craig, Sr. and the late Carrie Baldwin Craig. John attended Furman University. An Air Force veteran of World War II, he proudly served in the European theatre. He worked for National Cash Register for over 37 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Myde Nadine Rogers Craig; daughters, Cynthia Aiken Wilbanks (Paris) of Iva, SC, Joy Craig Phillips (Bill) of Raleigh, NC, Sharon Craig Parker (Tim) of Albemarle, NC and Robin Craig Morris (Jimmy) of Richfield, NC; a son, Roger Craig (Bobbi Lyn) of Mt. Pleasant, NC; a sister, Mary Witt, of Greenville, SC; son-in-law Jim Moore (Emily) of Friendsville, TN; 38 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Marie Craig Moore; a granddaughter, Angie Phillips; a brother, Harry Craig; and a sister, Evelyn Wagner. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. on Sunday, December 21, 2014 with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor James Rodgers officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville, SC at 3:00 p.m. with full Military Honors.
