ROBERT CUMMINGS March 26, 1918 - September 5, 2005SENECA, SCMr. John Robert Cummings, age 87, of 365 Timberlake One Circle, Seneca, SC and husband of the late Dollie Mae Tucker Cummings, died Monday, September 5, 2005 at Oconee Memorial Hospital in Seneca, SC.Born in Belton, SC on March 26, 1918, Mr. Cummings was a son of the late William Wallace Cummings and Bertha Bell Darby Cummings. He retired from Abney Mills in 1983 and then was a self-employed painter. He was a Shriner, a member of The Woodman of the World, and the Townville Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of Townville Baptist Church.Survivors include a daughter, Dottie Owens and her husband, Leroy of Seneca, SC; a brother, Billy Cummings of Belton, SC; three grandchildren, Rev. Shannon Owens and his wife, Paula, Lisa Hindman and her husband, Ashley and Ashley Owens and three great-grandchildren, Anna Owens, Blake Owens and Elisa Hindman.In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Ralph, Floyd, Guy, Walt and Blease Cummings and three sisters, Mozelle Mahaffey, Annie Bell Taylor and Para Lee Worthington. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 9, 2005 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Greg Nix.
