Campbell Veterans Nursing Home, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2011, at the Rainey Hospice House.Born September 1, 1924, in Hart County, GA, he was a son of the late John Thomas Fleming and Kate Phillips Fleming. Mr. Fleming served in the United States Army and retired from Wamsutta Mill. He was a member of the South Anderson Lions Club and the American Legion Post No. 184. Additionally, he was a member of Orrville Baptist Church.Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years, Hazel King Fleming; and their children: Kathy Skinner (Joe), Robert Fleming (Lynn), and Tina Fleming McCord, all of Anderson, SC; grandchildren: Chris Yates (Kristy), Kris Maples, Cole Fleming, Lauren Kinley, and Austin Kinley; great grandchildren: Chesney Yates and Jaxton Yates; and great god-grandchild, Kelsey Watson. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family, having been predeceased by three sisters and one brother.The Funeral Service will be held at 4pm on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by the Reverend Dr. Wendell Bannister and the Reverend Rex Simmons.
