John Mattson Glackin, Sr., age 83, of Anderson, SC, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Rainey Hospice House. Born August 10, 1938, in West Chester, PA, he was the son of the late George Bartol Glackin, Sr. and Naomi Mattson Glackin. John was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was formerly employed with Lockheed Martin where he was an aircraft sheet metal mechanic. He later became a private contractor in aircraft sheet metal. He is survived by his children, John Glackin, Jr. (Tess) of Jacksonville, FL, Patti Shorey (Day) of Belton, SC, David Glackin (Vickie) of Lake Forest, NC, Daniel Borden (Wolfram) of Germany, Georgia Glackin of Easley, SC, and Eric Krovich (Tara) of Tampa, FL; 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Anna Kansak. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 2, 2022, from 2:00-4:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. There will be a private family committal service at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
