In loving memory of John H. Jenkins, of Belton SC, who was born on Sept 24, 1934, and peacefully entered his heavenly home on February 02, 2024. He was greeted in eternal bliss by his parents, Rev. John L. Jenkins and Maimie Jenkins, his sisters, Shirley J. Huggins, Phyllis J. Lanford, and Lyree J. Holmes, as well as his brother, Harold Dean Jenkins.
John is survived by his cherished wife of 65 years, Carolina Jenkins and his son, Andy Jenkins (Towana) of Anderson SC, and daughter Kim (Rodney) Madden of Kannapolis, NC, brother Olan "Butch" (Lynn) Jenkins of Clinton, SC, and sister Vivian (Joe) Koon of Clinton, SC. John's legacy lives on through his loving grandchildren: Jessica (Brian) Daoust (Vincent, Gabriel, Marshall), Matthew (Amy) Jenkins (Easton, Levi), Tyler (Andrea) Jenkins (Jonah, Ella Mae), Trent (Casey) Madden (Alex, Juliana).
John spent 30 years of his career as a US Postal carrier and supervisor, retiring in 1995. He was a devoted charter member of High Praises Church of God. In 1988 he was honored for Outstanding Lay Leadership and Lifestyle as a Man of God by the National Laymen's Board of the Church of God. John cherished time spent with friends and family, and was a beloved husband, father, and Paw Paw.
The funeral service to honor John's life will be held at Forest Lawn Remembrance II Chapel at 2609 North 29 Hwy., Anderson, SC 29621 on February 5, 2024, at 11:00 am officiated by Rev. Chris Sustar, Rev. Stoney Abercrombie, and Rev. Brian Daoust. The family will greet guests following the service. Entombment is at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pruitt Health Hospice & Palliative Care, 1510 Fant Street, Anderson, SC 29621.
