KARRAKERDecember 17, 1929 - August 31, 2005ANDERSON, SCMr. John Daniel Karraker, age 75, husband of Joanne Karraker of 309 Meadow Park Drive, Anderson, SC, died Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at Anderson Area Medical Center in Anderson, SC.Born in St. Louis, MO on December 17, 1929, Mr. Karraker was a son of the late Ray Richardson Karraker and Pearl Heilig Karraker. He was a graduate of the University of Illinois and Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH. He was retired from General Electric as a Market Analyst. He served in the United States Air Force in between World War II and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Karraker was a member of the Golden Kiwanis Club and New Covenant Presbyterian Church. He was also a private pilot.Survivors include his wife, Joanne Karraker of the home; a son, John R. Karraker of Doylestown, PA; daughters, Jennifer Baldwin of Longmont, CO and Jill Wolak of Alexandria, VA; daughter-in-law, Monica Karraker of Anderson, SC; eleven granddaughters and one grandson.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, James William Karraker and Jeffrey Gregg Karraker and two brothers, Richard Karraker and Robert Karraker. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.Funeral services will be held on Monday, Sept 5, 2005 at 2:00 pm at New Covenant Presbyterian Church officiated by the Reverends David Rountree and Mark Burchette. A private family committal will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Anderson, SC.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Sunday, Sept 4, 2005 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.The family will be at their respective homes.Flowers are optional.
