John Thomas Moffo, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at his residence.
Born in Waterbury, CT, on September 15, 1935, he was the son of the late Carmine Moffo, Sr. and the late Rita Cricchi Moffo. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. John was a retired meat merchandise consultant having worked for Surfine, and Allied Grocery in Windsor, Ct. He also worked as a meat cutter at Drennon's Market in Iva, for several years. He attended St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He is survived by his loving wife, of 43 years, Gail Pastore Moffo; a son, John R. Moffo and his wife Kerry, of Zebulon, NC; a daughter, Doreen A. Moffo; two brothers, Carmine Moffo, Jr., of Southbury, CT, and Mario Moffo, of Waterbury, CT; four grandchildren, Nick Moffo, Whitney Tate-Moffo, Michaela Moffo, and T.J. Moffo; and several special nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Joseph N. Moffo.
The Memorial Service to honor the life of Mr. Moffo will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Ignatius Smith officiating. The family will gather for a time of visitation following the service. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Waterbury, CT.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of the Lourdes Church, 309 South Main Street, Waterbury CT, 06706.
