November 4, 1923 - August 2, 2005ANDERSON, SCMr. John Ralph Moore, Sr., age 81, husband of Betty Nell Timms Moore of 2007 Sheldon Drive, formerly of 3003 LeConte Road, Anderson, SC, died Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at the Anderson Area Medical Center in Anderson, SC.Born in Anderson, SC on November 4, 1923, Mr. Moore was a son of the late Horace Lee Moore and Bertha Sanders Moore. He was a 1941 graduate of Anderson Boys' High School and attended Clemson University and was a United States Army Veteran. He retired from sales and management at Metromont Materials and was a member of the Anderson Home Builders Association. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing golf with his children, grandchildren and friends and was an avid Clemson Fan. Mr. Moore was a former choir member; Sunday School teacher and served on various church committees. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Anderson and the Pioneers Sunday School class.Survivors include his wife, Betty Nell Timms Moore of the home; sons John Ralph Moore, Jr., and his wife, Becky of Anderson, SC, Timothy Lee Moore and his wife, Christy of Sumter, SC; a daughter, Terrell Moore Pollock and her husband, Gary of Greenville, SC; a brother, Rev. Harold Moore of Warner Robins, GA; grandson, Denton Moore; granddaughter, Rebekah Moore, both of Anderson, SC; granddaughter, Elliott Pollock and grandson, Edward Pollock, both of Greenville, SC; granddaughters, Katherine Moore and Elizabeth Moore, both of Sumter, SC.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Moore Cunningham and Evelyn Moore Goodson.Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 5, 2005 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by Dr. James R. Thomason. Serving as pallbearers will be his nephews.
