Obituary

ANDERSON, SC On Sunday, March 29th 2015, John Quincy Ricker, Jr., went to be with God at Rainey Hospice House. He retired after 20 years of service with the U.S. Army. He was combat infantry in WWII Germany and combat infantry in the Korean War. He was wounded in action in Korea on August 14, 1950. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star in WWII, Germany. He retired after 25 years of service with the Anderson County Sherriff's Office. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Anderson, SC. He also worked for the U.S. Marshall Service and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Blackwell Ricker; his son, John Michael Ricker; his sister, Jean Ricker McDonald; and his granddaughter, Amanda Joy Ricker. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Doris Burgess Ricker; his mother, Sudi Mae Davis Ricker; his father, John Quincy Ricker; and his sister, Bonnie Ricker Bateh. The graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at 3:00 PM at Memory Gardens, Clemson, SC. He will be laid to rest with full military honors. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at The McDougald Funeral Home. May he forever Rest in Peace.
