JOHN GEORGE ROZAKOSJUNE 21, 1936 - OctoBER 10, 2010 ANDERSON, SC ' John George Rozakos, age 74, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away October 10, 2010, at the AnMed Health Medical Center. He is survived by his wife, Rita Lancianese Rozakos; a son and daughter-in-law, Christopher & Shae Rozakos; a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer & Darrell Burgess; a daughter-in-law, Carrie Rozakos; four grandchildren: Anastasia Rozakos, Anthony Rozakos, John Rozakos, and Nicholas Rozakos; nine brothers and sisters: Tony Rozakos, Joanna Beleos, Bessie Mentis, Elainey Roberts, Inna Thickston, Tula Bikas, Spero Rozakos, Pete Rozakos, and Angelina Zographos; and many loving in-laws, nieces, and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Athena Trakas Rozakos and George John Rozakos of Sparta, Greece. He is also predeceased by his son, George John Rozakos of Anderson. Johnny was born in Hartsville, SC, the eldest of ten children. He was proud of his Greek heritage, and was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Greenville and a volunteer at the Anderson Greek Festival. He was the owner and proprietor of several restaurants including Petes #5, Capri's of Anderson, Pete's Downtown Caf', and Pete's on Concord, which he owned with his son, George. Johnny was an avid outdoorsman and collector. Johnny never met a stranger. He was much loved and respected by all who knew him. A fixture in the Anderson restaurant community, Johnny's tall tales from behind the diner counter were legendary. The Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, October 13, 2010, at Grace Episcopal Church, conducted by Father Tom Pistolis. A Committal Service will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6pm until 8pm. A Trisagion Service will be held at 7pm. The Rozakos family will be at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Chris Rozakos, 402 Berkshire Hill, on Wednesday evening.
