John Thomas Simpson, age 62, of Iva, SC, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at AnMed Medical Center.

Born January 25, 1962, in Anderson County, SC, he was the son of the late Roland Henry Simpson and Lois Huges Simpson. He was also preceded in death by two granddaughters.

John was a graduate of Crescent High School Class of 1980 and Clemson University. He retired from Michelin after 20 years of service to the company. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his grandboys. He was a member of Poplar Spring Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Diane Nix Simpson; children, Shiloh Simpson and Hank Simpson; brother, Chip Simpson; and four grandsons.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 29, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 30, 2024, at 10:00 am at Poplar Spring Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
