John LeRoy Wilson, age 54, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Norfolk, VA, on August 12, 1962, he was the son of the late William Loren Wilson and the late Jimmie Frances Hoops Carson. John proudly served his county in the United States Army National Guard where he retired as a Chemical Operations Specialist. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Fowler Wilson; two daughters, Sarah Wilson, of Anderson, SC and Suzanna Shintaku, of Moore, SC; a brother, Al Carson, of Anderson, SC; a sister, Anita Wilson Richey, of Anderson, SC; and nine nieces and nephews. The Graveside service with full military honors to celebrate the life of John will be held on Thursday, December 8th at 1:00 PM at the M.J. 'Dolly' Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson, SC with the Rev. Jerry Parnell officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haven of Rest Ministries, PO Box 466, Anderson, SC 29622.
