Evelyn Pierce Osborne, 91, of Anderson, SC, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at her home.
Born August 8, 1935, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late James Floyd Pierce and Lillie Mae Morris Pierce. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Billy James Pierce and Harvey Lester Pierce; and sister, Emily Faye Pierce Fredericks.
Evelyn was a graduate of Girls High and attended Emmanuel College. She was the model of a Godly wife and mother to her children. She loved her family and prayed for each one individually each and every day. But not only her family, she was a prayer warrior for many who shared their cares and concerns with her. She never failed to call all of her family on their birthday and sing them "Happy Birthday." She was gifted with musical talent that was God given. Her husband Harry was the love of her life and they did everything together. She knew when she first laid eyes on him as a 13-year-old girl that she was going to marry him. They only had eyes for each other for their entire 72 years of marriage.
She knew how important it was to be the keeper of the home. But that's not all she did. She taught Sunday School and played for every service at Taylor Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church for 76 years. She became the church pianist at age 13, and her talent grew from there. She taught music and played piano for funeral services for both The McDougald Funeral Home and Sullivan-King Mortuary. She played for cantatas and could transpose music into any key. She had the ability to listen to someone singing and start playing in their key. She could play and carry on a conversation at the same time without missing a beat. She could make anyone sound like the best singer with her accompaniment.
Evelyn was deeply loved by her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, and friends. She left a lasting impact on all who loved her and her legacy will continue to live on through them.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Harry Jackson Osborne; children, Barry Lee Osborne (Donna), Teresa Anne Osborne Brown and Nancy Osborne Baxter (Buddy); brother, Allen Pierce (Syble); 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 1:00-2:30 pm at Taylor Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm with Rev. Dr. Brent Lollis officiating. Burial will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Taylor Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church, 711 Glenn St., Anderson, SC 29625.
