Johnny Ralph Andrews, age 72, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2016, at his residence. Born in Troy, NC on July 25, 1944, he was the son of the late Evander Ralph Andrews and the late Rosa Nell Tilley. Johnny proudly served his country in the United States Army in the Vietnam War, and was a past post commander at the VFW-5996, where he sincerely enjoyed volunteering to help veterans returning home. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Belton Metal Company. He enjoyed fishing, classic cars, and especially spending time with his family. He attended Gethsemane Baptist Church. He is survived by his sons, Ricky Williams (Claudia) of Greenville, SC, Wally Williams (Lynn) of Iva, SC, Don Robinson (Marcy) of Anderson, SC, and Jamie Andrews (Andi) of Live Oak, FL; daughter, Kristi Andrews Boggess (Ken) of Knoxville, TN; three brothers; five sisters; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother. A graveside service will be held at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veteran's Cemetery with military honors on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at 12:30 p.m. with the Reverend Sam Duncan and Pastor Ricky Hilton officiating. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Monday, October 24, 2016, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Campbell Patriots, 4605 Belton Hwy., Anderson, SC 29621.
