Born in Rockingham, NC, on December 21, 1939, he was a son of the late Oscar Lee and Ruby Marion Gregory Barnes. Survivors include three sons: Michael A. Barnes (Sandra) of Anderson, John G. Barnes of Greenwood, and Jody M. Barnes (Amy) of Iva; three sisters: Diane Geeter and Joyce Disedare, both of Bradley, and Debbie Turner of Greenwood; four brothers: Ronnie, Jerry, and Royce Barnes, all of Greenwood, & Ricky Barnes of Seneca; and six grandchildren and one great grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Ray Barnes.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home from 6pm until 8pm on Wednesday, February 3, 2010.
