Johnny James, Sr., age 77, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at his residence. Born in Anderson County, on May 13, 1939, he was the son of the late Rufus James and the late Myrtie Herring James. He was a supervisor for cotton mills, including Wamsutta and Mt. Vernon Mill, where he retired. He was a member of Dew Drop Masonic Lodge #266 and was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by two sons, Johnny James, Jr. and his wife Lynn and Eddie James; a daughter, Tina James; three brothers, Jim, Bill, and Joe James; and three grandchildren, Destiny, Amber, and Tyler. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby James; and two sisters, Nellie Aiken and Margaret Hayes. The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend Carroll Plemmons officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service, on Sunday, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
