Johnny Franklin McClure, age 84, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at AnMed Medical Center.

Born October 29, 1941, in Anderson, SC, he was a son of the late W.T. McClure and Ruby Webb McClure. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, James McClure and Edward McClure.

Johnny was a graduate of Boys High and attended Tri-County Technical College. He was retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He didn't mind getting his hands dirty working in his yard and garden because he took pride in watching things grow from the ground up. He was a mason and member of Starr Baptist Church. Above all else, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved and cared for his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Linda Bannister McClure; sons, Mark McClure (Charlene) and Terry McClure; daughter, Susan Foster (Stephen); brother, Webb McClure (Barbara); grandchildren, Lauren McClure, Emily McClure, Calvin Benton (Emily), Jessica Foster, and Katelyn Foster; and great grandson, Gregory.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 10:00-11:00 am at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 11:30 am in the Chapel with Rev. Tony Howell and Rev. Mike Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
