John Mac "Johnny Mac" Rhodes, age 80, of Anderson, SC, dedicated husband to the late Joyce Mae Loftis Rhodes, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at Rainey Hospice House. Born September 16, 1940, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late McDuff Rhodes and the late Elma Mariee Hubbard Rhodes. Johnny Mac was a graduate of Pendleton High School, Class of 1958, attending Anderson College for two years, and the University of Georgia for two years earning his bachelor's degree in business. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves for 30 years and worked as a Field Deputy for the South Carolina Employment Security Commission for 29 years before retiring. His true passion in life was racing flat track motorcycles for Timms Harley Davidson in the 1950's, 60's, and 70's all throughout the southeast portion of United States. He was also a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. He is survived by his son, Lance Mac Rhodes (Ovis) of Anderson, SC; sister, Cindy R. Ecleberry of Anderson, SC; and two grandchildren, Madison P. Jordan, and Camren N. Jordan. He is also survived by a host of friends to cherish his memory. In addition to his parents, and loving wife, Joyce, he was preceded in death by a sister, Donna "Tootie" Rhodes. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 31, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at The Pendleton Center. A graveside service will follow on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors with Rev. C.W. Hicks officiating. The family will be at the residence, 3723 Centerville Rd., Anderson, SC 29625.
