OBITUARYFLAGMR. JOSEPH BALOGHDecember 3, 1917 - May 11, 2007ANDERSON, SCMr. Joseph Balogh, age 89, husband of the late Leona 'Toot' Carling Balogh, died Friday, May 11, 2007 at Oakmont West Nursing Center, Greenville, SC.Born in Revere, PA on December 3, 1917, Mr. Balogh was the son of the late Rudolph Balogh and Elizabeth Milutin Balogh. He served in the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Amador in the Panama Canal Zone Coast Alterary. He worked in the steel mills and also worked at Eastern Aircraft during World War II building planes for the US Navy. In 1945, he joined the AFL-CIO Boilermakers Union Local Lodge 13 and remained a member of Local Lodge 13 until his death. He retired in September 1980 after 35 years working as a boilermaker. He met his late wife in 1943 while working at Eastern Aircraft, they were married in 1947 and had a wonderful life together for 50 ' years until her death on January 18, 1998. They lived in Revere, PA, Washington, NJ, Hampton, NJ and Wrightsville, PA before moving to Anderson in 1984. He loved to fish and hunt.He is survived by a daughter, Janet Yokeum and her husband, Jerry of Anderson, SC; three grandchildren, Yvette Brittain of Anderson, SC, Matt Yokeum and his wife, Lisa of Belton, SC, and Steve Yokeum and his wife Shannon of Anderson, SC; his sister, Mary Wolfinger, of Ottsville, PA; eight great-grandchildren Ashley, Cale and Courtney Brittain, Anna, Katelin and Tyler Yokeum, all of Anderson, SC and Meagan and Austin Yokeum, of Belton, SC, and one great-great grandchild, Morgan Young.In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Coleman, Steve, Rudy and Frank Balogh and infant Balogh.The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 14, 2007 at 2:00 pm in The McDougald Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends on Monday, May 14, 2007 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at the funeral home.A message of condolence may be sent to the family by visitingwww.mcdougaldfuneralhome.comTHE MCDOUGALD FUNERAL HOME is in charge of the arrangements.
