Joseph Bonacci, age 87, of Anderson, SC, passed away Friday, October 28, 2022, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born September 16, 1935, in Pleasantville, NJ, he was the son of the late Eugene Bonacci and Rachael Tolerico Bonacci. Joseph was a veteran of the United States Army, 505 Division 82nd Airborne from 1954-1957. He was a security guard for 23 years with the Golden Nugget Casino in Atlantic City, NJ, retiring in 2006. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Joseph was a devout Catholic and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Carol Lea Chabot Bonacci; brothers, Fred Bonacci of New Jersey and James Bonacci of Florida; and sisters, Gena Bonacci of Arizona, Rose Marie Bonacci, Gloria Bonacci Fluck, and Carol Bonacci Korte (Hans) all of New Jersey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Eugene Bonacci, Jr.; and sister, Anne Bonacci Gribbin. The family will receive friends Friday, November 4, 2022, from 12:00-1:00 pm at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 pm with Father Philip S. Gillespie as celebrant. A private committal will be held at a later date at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic School Scholarship Fund, 1200 Cornelia Rd., Anderson, SC 29621.
