JOE BULLOCK August 25, 1936 - September 13, 2005IVA, SCMr. Joseph Vernon Bullock age 69, husband of Mary Magdalene Cole Bullock of 9735 Highway 81 South, Iva, SC, died Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at the Anderson Area Medical Center in Anderson, SC.Born in Portsmouth, VA, he was the son of the late Sydney Vernon Bullock and Mildred Belch Bullock. He was retired Chief Yeoman of the U.S. Coast Guard and also retired from Bell Atlantic. He was a member of Iva Pentecostal Holiness Church, served as a deacon; teacher of the Men's Bible Class; director of the Men's Ministry and a member of the choir.He is survived by is wife, Mary Magdalene Cole Bullock of the home; step-sons, Julius O'Neal Aldrich, Jr., of Prosperity, SC, Charles 'Bobby' Aldrich of Toccoa, GA and Enoch Dexter Aldrich of the home; a step-daughter, Millie Jane Pigott of Sumter, SC; a sister, E. Pat Meadows of Portsmouth, VA; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2005 from 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home by the Reverend Billy Pinson. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Military Rites. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, September 16, 2005 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.The family will be at the residence.Flowers are optional.
