Joseph Wendal Coleman, age 75, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Dublin, GA, he was the son of the late Jay Joseph Coleman and the late Murell Watson Coleman. After proudly serving his country in the United States Air Force, Joe began his career at E-Systems working on fighter jets. He later worked at G.E. in the X-Ray Department as a Quality Control Specialist, where he retired in 2001. He is survived by his loving wife, Lora Lark Coleman; his sons, Joseph Mitchell Coleman and his wife Shelley, of Dublin, GA, and Terry Mitchell and his wife Jenny, of Anderson, SC; his daughters, Patsy Mitchell, of Anderson, SC, and Margie Smith, who introduced them 45 years ago, of Piedmont, SC; a brother, James Ralph Coleman of Biloxi, MS; a beloved sister-in-law, Dorothy Coleman, of Warner Robbins, GA; a special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ruby and Butch McGee, of Anderson, SC; six grandchildren, Josh, Dakotah, and Colt Coleman, of Dublin, GA, and Holly, and Jared Mitchell and Jason Mitchell and his fianc, Heather, of Anderson; two great-grandchildren, Anna and Shilo Coleman; and four nieces. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend Rodney Harbin officiating. Interment will follow at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, prior to the service from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. At Joe's request, please dress casual.
