Joseph "Joe" Pierce Scarborough, 83, of Anderson, SC, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born October 6, 1936 in Royston, GA, he was the son of the late D.B. and Ila Dean Scarborough. He was married for 45 years to Willie Pearl Cantrell Scarborough until her passing. Joe served in the National Guard, formerly worked for BASF, and was a member of Andersonville Baptist Church. He is survived by his children, Donnie Scarborough (Laurie), Ronnie Scarborough (Robin) and Tammy Jo Scarborough all of Anderson; grandchildren, Brandon Scarborough (Heather), Huitt Scarborough (Tammy), Wesley Scarborough (Taylor), Casey Joe Kelley, J.J. Scarborough (Kalene), Tyler Scarborough (Brittany) and Trevor Scarborough; and great-grandchildren, Violet, Julia, Joseph, Jameson, Stetson, Pearl, Roper Joe, Blakely, Knox, Asher, Liam, Wyatt, Zander and Saylors Jo. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Dean Scarborough. Mr. Scarborough will lie in state on Friday, August 7, 2020 from 11:00 am-2:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Evans and Rev. Sam Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
