Josephine Brown Reed, 95, of Anderson, SC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born May 21, 1925 in Elberton, GA, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Lawson Brown and Cola Howell Brown. She was married to the late Bennie Carroll Reed. Josephine spent her career in the textile industry working at Wellington Mill. She loved sewing, cooking and reading and was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. She was the loving mother, grandmother and sister to, her son, Len Reed (Diane); daughters, Joey Allen and Peggy Allen (Joe); brother, Joe Brown (Becky); sister, Doris Fulghum; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Rick Allen; grandson, Mark Reed; three brothers; and three sisters. Family and friends may pay their respects and sign the Guest Register on Monday, September 7, 2020 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 11:00 am at New Silver Brook Cemetery with Dr. Glenn Taylor officiating. Social distancing will be observed and the family requests that those attending the service wear a face covering.
