Joyce Griffin Cook, age 80, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 10, 2016, at NHC of Anderson. Born in Anderson, SC on May 11, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Guy B. Griffin and the late Jessie Stone Griffin. She was a graduate of Girl's High School and worked at Belk Department Store for more than 40 years. Joyce was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Dana Cook, of Anderson, SC and Joy Goble and her husband David, of Charlotte, NC; and a sister, Carolyn Dixon, of Anderson, SC. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Cook; and brothers, James, Pee Wee, and David Griffin. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant View Baptist Church with Reverend Glenn Taylor.
