Nancy Joyce Cox, 74, of Anderson, passed away Friday, August 17, 2018 at Rainey Hospice House. Born April 5, 1944 in Anderson, SC, she is the daughter of Luecile "Mama Cile" Hatcher Todd and the late Archie Todd. Joyce was a graduate of Crescent High School and worked for more than 16 years at St. John's United Methodist Preschool. She had a tremendous dedication and love for her family and well-known for her cooking. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Joyce was a life-long member of New Hope United Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir, a Sunday School teacher, and was active in the United Methodist Women. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 55 years, Lin Cox of Anderson; two sons, Tony Cox (Regina) and Tod Cox (Amy); a sister, Jean Sonefelt; six grandchildren, Megan Latham (Robert), Brady, Bryson, and Caroline Cox, Joshua and Katherine Bass; three great-grandchildren, Carson and Easton Latham and Chevy Bass. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Todd. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 21, 2018, from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm at New Hope United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Reverends Steve King and Joyce Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be at the residence.
