Joyce Geraldine Elrod, 88, of Anderson, SC passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Rainey Hospice House. Born August 6, 1929, in Anderson County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Clara Wells Elrod and the late Lawrence Martin Elrod. She was a retired employee of the Town of Pendleton where she served as town clerk for many years. She is survived by her brother, Lawrence Martin (Bill) Elrod and wife, Betty Sue Elrod of Anderson, SC; nephew, Lawrence Brantley Elrod of Anderson, SC; great nieces, Jennifer Elrod Knapp (Eric) of Greenville, SC, Elizabeth Ann Elrod of Greenville, SC, Allison Elrod Long (Jacob) and Rebecca Catherine Elrod all of Anderson, SC. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 16, 2017 at The First Baptist Church of Pendleton Cemetery with Dr. Josh Hunt officiating. The family will greet friends at the cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in memory of Ms. Elrod to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
