Joyce Marie Pierce McCurley, age 74, of Anderson, SC, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at Rainey Hospice House. Born December 31, 1948, in Anderson, SC, she was a daughter of the late Joel O. Pierce and Rosa Lee Kay Pierce. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Charlene Rochester, and infant daughter Tracy Lynn McCurley. Joyce retired from Anderson Memorial Hospital after 35 years of faithful service. She loved fishing and watching her grandsons play baseball. Joyce will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Starr Church of God of Prophecy. She is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Charles Edgar McCurley; son, Charles Anthony McCurley; daughter, Pamela McCurley; sisters, Brenda Herring and Denise Pilgrim; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Friday, July 7, 2023, at 11:00 am at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Leland Pitts officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Starr Church of God of Prophecy, 225 Wilton E. Hall Rd., Starr, SC 29684.
