Julian Perry Wright, 88, of Anderson, SC, passed away, Sunday, December 27, 2020, at his home. Born April 24, 1932, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Bunyun Scarborough and Ellen Wright. He was married for 62 years to Catherine Etoile Brown Wright until her death in 2018. J.P. retired from the Anderson Independent Mail after 35 years of faithful service. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Vicki Pless, Patty Wright, J. Perry Wright, Jr., Mandy Roberts, Rosie Aiken and Tina Taylor; brother, Tab Scarborough; sister, Frankie McCallum Cain; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Lynn Barnes; and granddaughter, Trina Sorrow. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 31, 2020, from 12:30-1:30 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the Chapel with Chase Aderhold officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
