Juanita Kay Berry, age 93, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Anderson, SC on June 7, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Ansel C. Kay and the late Lois Hughes Kay. She was a graduate of Girls High School. Juanita was a former member of Garner Memorial Baptist Church and later a member of Pope Drive Baptist Church She is survived by her children, William J. Berry, Jr. (Theresa), Jan Pennell, Lynn Redmond (Bob), Becky Hicks, and Patti Seaborn (Scott); six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert A. Kay; and a sister Doris Huff. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, William Jesse Berry, Sr.; two brothers, and four sisters. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017, at 12:30 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum with Reverend Matthew Danuser officiating. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, prior to the service, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
