Clara Juanita Hood, 81, of Anderson, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born April 22, 1937 in Fairplay, SC, she was a daughter of the late William Thomas Hanvey and Dessie Glenn Kay. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" David Hood, Jr.; sister, Rachel Wiley and son-in-law, Eddie Bo McCullough. She was a graduate of Girls High School and later retired with 20 years of service from Singer/Ryobi. Juanita was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple, where she was former secretary of the Class with a Heart Sunday school class. Her favorite ministry was that of sending everyone greeting cards. She is survived by her son, Michael Hood of Anderson; daughters, Angela McCullough and Denise Fleming (Johnny) both of Anderson; brother, William Hanvey of Anderson; sisters, Frances Addis and Shirley Heaton (Calvin) all of Anderson; three grandchildren, Garrison Fleming, Meredith McCullough and Carrington Fleming and one great-grandchild, Rori Gray Fleming. The family will receive friends from 1:30-3pm Saturday, December 29, 2018 at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the chapel at 3:30pm with Rev. Sam Duncan and Rev Dale Cross officiating. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the son's home, Michael Hood, 224 O'Bannon Court, Anderson, SC 29621.
