Juanita Strickland Minyard, age 82, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017, at Rainey Hospice House. Born in Anderson, SC on April 14, 1934, she was the daughter of the late W. R. Strickland and the late Ruby Hanks Strickland. After graduating from Anderson Girls High, Juanita worked at K-Mart where she later retired. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren that she loved dearly. She was also a loyal Clemson Tigers fan. She was a faithful member of Covenant Baptist Church where she attended in the Rick Smith Sunday School Class. She is survived by her husband, William H. Minyard; a daughter, Teresa Jefferson (Wayne); a son, Jerry Minyard (Stacy); five grandchildren, Michelle Vaughn (Spence), Amanda Jefferson, Jourdan Minyard, Anna-Logan Minyard, and Kyle Minyard; and three great-grandchildren, Kristopher and Amberly Vaughn, and William Mulherin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond Hanks, Leroy Strickland, and Horace Strickland; and one sister, Scarlett Strickland. The funeral service will be held at Covenant Baptist Church on Monday, February 13, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverends Steve Silvey and Ronnie James officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Sunday, February 12, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621.
