Judith Ann Smith Bannister, age 71, of 205 Sumter Street, Anderson, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at her residence with her loving family by her side. Born on July 5, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Joe P. Smith and the late Eunice White Smith. For forty-two years, she was the devoted wife of the late Jimmy Larry Bannister, Sr. until his death in 2004. Mrs. Bannister was a homemaker who enjoyed being with her family. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons, Jimmy Larry Bannister, Jr. (Marsha) of Starr, Jeffrey Dwayne Bannister (Cheryl) of Honea Path, and Michael Gregory Bannister of Starr; a daughter, Cynthia DeAnn Bannister of Anderson; two brothers, Ronnie Smith and Donnie Smith (JoAnn), both of Anderson; and a sister, Cathy Gentry of Anderson; also surviving are ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, Jimmy, Mrs. Bannister was preceded in death by a brother, Joey Smith. The funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, February 24, 2017, at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, with Rev. Wesley Taylor and Rev. Danny Whitt officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
