Obituary

Judith Patricia Latham Wilson, known to her friends and family as Pat, passed in the early morning of January 10, 2021, at the Rainey Hospice House after a long and courageous battle with multiple myeloma. She is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel (Bud) and Evelyn Latham and sister, Alpha Latham. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Curt Wilson of Lake Secession. Pat is also survived by two sons: Mitchel (Celia) and Michael (Jill). Pat had five grandchildren that she loved and bragged about unashamedly: Chip Wilson (Caitlin) and Anna Wilson; Sarah Wilson, Owen Wilson and Eli Wilson. She is also survived by her brother, Buddy Latham (Frankie) and their two children, Judith Lee Carson (James) and John Latham. Pat had two great grandchildren (Reed and Emery Wilson) and a great niece and nephew (Harper and Finn Carson) who warmed her heart thoroughly in her later years. She is also survived by a special cousin, Barbara Stovall of Lake Secession, and a sister-in-law, Sally Hughes of Abbeville, SC. Pat leaves a legacy of many friends and family whom she touched deeply in her 80 years. She had a distinguished career at Duke Energy for 35 years and was sincerely beloved by those with whom she worked. Pat spent countless hours volunteering in the Iva Recreation and Crescent Booster Clubs, as well as supporting Curt in his work with the Jaycees. She was a life-long member of Bethel United Methodist Church of Iva. She loved her church family and was a dedicated leader. She was a standout athlete at Crescent High, where she was recently inducted into their Athletic Hall of Fame. Pat supported her family in many sporting events over the decades. She was a fierce competitor and took pride in putting forth her best effort in all aspects of her life. Pat smiled often and kept fighting cancer to the very end. She was the very essence of courage and strength. She will be missed greatly, but we are comforted in knowing she is in no more pain, has a new heavenly body, and is in the presence of her Heavenly Father. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Dr. John Doster (and staff) and Dr. Rajeev Malik for their sincere dedication, support, and care of Pat during her illness. The family will have a private graveside service conducted by Rev. Richard Somerville and Rev. Amy Bratton. Pallbearers are: Jimmy Chastain, John Michael Jordan, Chip Wilson, John Latham, Owen Wilson, and Eli Wilson. Memorials can be made to Bethel United Methodist Church (PO Box 535 Iva, SC 29655) or Hospice of the Upstate (https://secure.acceptiva.com/?cst=ff1765) (1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621) Events Final Resting Place Iva City Cemetery Iva, SC, US, 29655 Iva, SC 29655
