Judy F. Bishop, age 59, of Pelzer, SC passed away Friday, April 26, 2024, at St. Francis Downtown in Greenville, SC.
Born May 14, 1964, in Anderson, SC she was the daughter of the late James Albert Owens and Thelma Elizabeth Brooks Owens. She was also preceded in death by a stepbrother, Ted Cummings; a nephew, Jonathon Owens and two sisters-in-law, Cathy Owens and Martha Owens.
She worked as a custodian with T.L. Hanna High School in Anderson School District #5 for thirteen years. She enjoyed cooking, playing bingo and cards. She loved her family big, especially her nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her husband, William John Bishop; brothers, Calvin Michael (Vicky) Owens of Lincoln, AL, Samuel Dennis Owens of Belton, SC, James Allen Owens of Starr, SC and Stanley Brooks (Michelle) Owens of Belton, SC; sisters, Sharon Marie Cothran of Anderson, SC, Mary Annette Simmons of Greenwood, SC and Susan Elaine Owens of Anderson, SC; a stepmother, Barbara Jean Hanley of Belton, SC; stepsisters, Karen (Larry) Hendrix of Myrtle Beach, SC and Sharon (Chris) Barry of Belton, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 1, 2024, from 12:00 until 1:45 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. Services will begin at 2:00 pm in The McDougald Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Whitefield Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will be at their respective homes.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Whitefield Baptist Church, 207 Mitchell Road, Belton, SC 29627.
