Leverette Shealy, age 59, beloved wife of forty years of Ed Shealy, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2011.Born February 6, 1951, in Enoree, SC, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Leverette and Viola Clevenger Leverette. Mrs. Shealy completed her career as an Administrative Assistant ' namely serving the last nine years at Gardner-Webb University. She was passionate about all of the business affiliations and organizations that she was able to serve in various capacities. Mrs. Shealy was very passionate about all aspects of her career at Gardner-Webb; however, she was most proud to be affiliated with the college's N.O.E.L. program and all of the participants and supporters. She was a member of High Praises Church and was a dedicated member of the 'Surviving the Journey' support group offered through AnMed.In addition to her husband, she is survived by their children: a son, Chuck Shealy and wife, Christie of Pelzer, SC, and their children: Savannah, Mark, a daughter, Alison Standridge and husband, Scott of Greenville, SC, and their children: Caleb & Abigale; a twin sister: Trudy Chapman and husband, Mike of Chattanooga, TN; and a sister, Evelyn Hunt and husband, Kenneth of Baxley, GA.The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 8, 2011, at High Praises Church conducted by the Reverend Mike Chapman and the Reverend Chris Sustar. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Laurens, SC.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday.In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that memorials be made to the Music Ministry of High Praises Church, 4506 Midway Road, Williamston, SC 29697, Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621, or to the Cancer Association of Anderson, 215 East Calhoun Street, Anderson, SC 29621.
