Julia Bernice George Davis Kemp, of Wesley Commons Health Care, Greenwood S.C., died Saturday, March 31, 2007 at her residence.Born in Townville, SC on May 8, 1912, Mrs. Kemp was the daughter of the late Dewitt Clinton George and Mamie Todd George. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Asheville Normal and Teachers College in 1933, and was the retired owner and operator of the Buena Vista Motel in Asheville, N.C. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Anderson.Mrs. Kemp is survived by a brother, Joseph Thomas George of Fayetteville, NC and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, G. Cleve Davis and William Kemp; a son, William George Kemp and brothers, William Hugh George, Wayne Keith George, Robert Clinton George, and Vance Dewitt George.A Graveside Service will be held at the Townville Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Townville, SC, on Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at 4:00 pm officiated by Rev. Elizabeth Patrick.
