Julia Ann Moorhead Wallace, 75, of Pendleton, SC passed away Monday, December 13, 2021, at AnMed Health Care Center. She was the wife of Frederick Lance Wallace.
Born May 11, 1946, in Anderson, SC, she was a daughter of the late James Robert Moorhead and Jeanette Morris Moorhead. Julia was a graduate of Winthrop University and a member of Johns Island Episcopal Church.
When Lance accepted a position with The Citadel, the couple moved to the Charleston, SC area. She quickly engrossed herself into the low country and began a career as concierge for the Omni Hotel. Julia was the volunteer director for St. Francis Hospital and was a sales promoter for Palmetto Carriage Company. Being a selfless person, Julia loved helping others. She volunteered with the American Red Cross and with adult disability groups.
In addition to her husband, Lance, Julia is survived by son, Mathew Wallace (Tammy) of Taylors, SC; daughter, Christy Caston of Spartanburg, SC; brother, Dr. Robert Moorhead (Marsha) of Seneca, SC; sister, Jeanie Christopher (Dave) of Seneca, SC; and grandchildren Bethany Wallace, Ryan Wallace, and Rachel Tollison
A private service will be held to celebrate Julia.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association in Julia's honor.
